Pro-Iran Rallies Erupt in Kargil Amid Tehran Unrest
KARGIL (Ladakh) — Pro-Iran demonstrators took to the streets of the Indian-occupied Ladakh region, waving posters of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as Tehran works to contain ongoing domestic unrest.
The rally was organized under the banner of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, according to a report by The Times of India.

Thousands March in Support of Iran’s Leadership
Multiple processions began from different parts of Kargil, with large crowds carrying banners of Ayatollah Khamenei and chanting slogans in support of Iran’s leadership.
The marches eventually converged at the Old Taxi Stand, where the main gathering drew thousands of men and women from across the district, the report said.
Anti-US and Anti-Israel Slogans Raised
During the rally, protesters shouted slogans against the United States and Israel, specifically targeting US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The demonstrations come as Tehran seeks to push back against Trump’s repeated threats of US intervention in support of Iran’s anti-government protesters.
Rising Fears of US Military Escalation
Regional analysts and diplomats have warned that any US military action could backfire — potentially weakening the protest movement, triggering a harsher crackdown, and provoking retaliatory Iranian missile strikes on American bases across the Middle East.
Amid growing tensions, a US official confirmed Wednesday that some American personnel are being withdrawn from regional bases after Iran warned neighbouring countries that US installations could be targeted if Washington intervenes.
Trump and Iran Signal De-Escalation on Executions
Despite the heightened rhetoric, President Trump said late Wednesday that killings linked to the protests were subsiding and that he believed there was no plan for mass executions.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi echoed that message, telling Fox News that executions were not under consideration.
“There is no plan for hanging at all. Hanging is out of the question,” Araqchi said during an interview on Special Report with Bret Baier.
